Check out my 5 favorite bags from my collection! Are any of these your favs too?

Today I’m going to give you my 5 favorite bags from my collection. Some of you may agree and lots will disagree and that’s cool. At the end of the day, our handbag choices all boil down to personal preference and our individual preferences are all different. Can I get an amen?

What is my criteria for selecting my 5 favorites?

For choosing my 5 favorites in this post, I’m going to base them on the following list.

  • How often do I reach for the bag?
  • Is it a bag that I enjoy using?
  • Do all of my essential SLGs fit in the bag?
  • Does the bag go with most any outfit?
  • Is the bag good for everyday use?

My favorites definitely answer Yes to all of the above! So let’s get started shall we?

Favorite Bag #1 – Chanel 19 Large in Black Lambskin

Chanel 19 Large Black Lambskin

The Chanel 19 is certainly not everyone’s cup of tea. I feel it is one of those bags that you either love it or you hate it. There doesn’t seem to be much middle ground for it.

I personally love it and it checks all of the boxes for a favorite bag in my collection. It’s dressy or it’s casual. The lambskin leather is sooooo soft and I don’t worry too much about weather with it. I love the mixed metal hardware on the bag and think that it makes it very versatile.

The large size definitely fits all of my ride or die SLGs that I carry everyday and then a few extras if I need them. Of all of my black bags, I reach for this one the most just because it is so easy to use, it isn’t fussy and I just love looking at it when I use it.

I do have a bag organizer as well as a base shaper for it because without them, the bag is a little too slouchy for me and tends to fall forward because of the weight of the hardware. But, adding a base shaper and an organizer made this just the perfect handbag!

Favorite Bag #2 – Dior Saddle Bag in Navy Grained Calfskin

Dior Saddle Bag in Blue Indigo Grained Calfskin Leather

Yet another bag that you either love or love to hate! I absolutely love my saddle bag and yes, it does fit my ride or die SLGs and my phone in the back pocket. It is just a bit on the fussy side to get it and out of but I love her none the less.

The Saddle Bag has been on my wish list since the original came out in 1999 and everyone was carrying it including Carrie Bradshaw! It was shown in all of the fashion magazines and was all over TV entertainment news shows. But, with no Dior store near me, it just wasn’t meant to be. Fast forward a few decades and now I have her and I couldn’t be happier!

The bag is certainly an odd shape but I like that about it. The hardware is just stunning in person. It fits nicely on the crook of your arm or on your shoulder. I purchased my bag before the addition of the new strap, bummer but I’m hoping that I’ll be able to add the slim leather strap as an accessory later on Dior Gods willing. 🤞

Favorite Bag #3 – Loewe Puzzle Bag Small in Light Caramel

Small Loewe Puzzle Bag in Light Caramel Calfskin

I love that I just don’t see this bag around as much! It’s different and not overly saturated in retail land.

The Small Puzzle Bag is such a great everyday bag and fits all of my essential SLGs with room to spare. It has a detachable strap making it super easy to carry multiple ways with all being super comfortable. It has a small zipper pocket on the bag that I can slide my phone into as well.

This bag is very light weight even with your items in it which is always a plus, am I right? And the light caramel color goes with pretty much every outfit making it great for grab and go.

Favorite Bag #4 – Louis Vuitton Palm Springs Mini in Reverse Monogram

LV Palm Springs Mini Reverse Monogram

Ahhh, this versatile little bag! I debated over this bag for quite some time and then finally caved. I’m so glad that I did. There are so many ways to wear this bag. My favorite way to wear the bag is to just put one of the straps on and wear it as a shoulder bag. It makes for a great vacay bag or just anytime you need hands free.

And, since there is no vachetta on this little jewel, you don’t have to give the weather a second thought when heading out the door.

You may be wondering what it fits and let me tell you, much more than you think! It actually does fit all of my everyday essential SLGs and that cute little pocket on the front, well it’s perfect for your key fob.

This bag is no longer available in the reverse monogram but I like it so much I’m thinking of getting it in the regular monogram too. Who knows, we’ll see.

Favorite Bag #5 – Louis Vuitton Turenne PM in Monogram Canvas

LV Turenne PM

The Turenne is one of my all time favorite bags! It’s light weight and a great size, not too big and definitely not a mini bag. I can remember when I first looked at this bag and telling my SA (Sales Associate) that I wanted the GM. She looked at me and said that she wasn’t selling me the GM because it was a suitcase! 😃

I do have a bag organizer because I feel like it helps to keep the shape of the bag not only while storing it but while carrying it with my items inside. This is one bag that I am careful to check the weather before using. If I can keep my vachetta out of the rain, then I will.

I usually end up dressing this bag up with a bag charm of some sort because it is just so cute with one. I also like that it has a zippered top but honestly, I hardly ever zip it which makes it super easy for in and out. And the detachable, adjustable strap makes it great for carrying on your shoulder or crossbody.

So, what are your favorites?

I’m sure that over the years my favorites will change as more bags are added to my collection and my style changes. But, isn’t that the great thing about our handbag collections, they evolve right along with us! And, I think that it is fun to see what someone else considers a favorite that might not have even been on my radar….and now it is. 👜
